I have a confession to make. I have bitten off way more than I can chew. I am wearing so many hats at the moment that my headaches. I’m failing to do the one thing I really want to do – blog!

If there were 168 hours in a day rather than a week, I still think I’d have trouble getting everything done. How do you people do it?

Currently I’m a website designer, a copy writer, a book author, an affiliate manager, a blogger, a campaign manager, a copywriter, an seo optimizer, an affiliate, still a student, a resource researcher, an editor, a publisher, a jv broker, an advertising manager, a mother, a wife, a cook and house cleaner, a vet, an amateur – tired and broke.

But I have got to the stage where my product launch is finally almost ready and there’s only 2 days before the first module is released. It has been a long journey. I’m only about a quarter of the way to where I want to go.

I have found some awesome plugins I want to try out . I have titles for a hundred articles I want to write. I have new videos for the library I want to upload and still have not found time to submit links, visit social sites, fix the forum or finish the blogging module.

God, I sound like a whingeing pom! ( I am a pom, so I’m allowed to say that!)

But I read a post just recently (on a mom blog I’ll find the link for soon and share) that said the lesson she recalled recently was one from a writing teacher when she handed in an assignment. Here it is she said … and I’m sure we’ve all been to this point in time before, where you’ve just spent hours (or months) creating something and some one turns around and says…

“So what.”

And cruel as it is at the time, the lesson is about giving relevant and irresistible writing that won’t make your readers yawn.

Funny thing, I just started looking for the link to that post and came across this on on Guru Addiction, which seemed appropriate. Then I followed a link and found a new tool called Snap Preview Anywhere which looks pretty cool and is something I probably should get because I didn’t find the post I read yesterday and I didn’t save the link because I didn’t plan to talk about it. So a second apology to the blogger who wrote it.

Well I’ve had my rant and now it’s time to apologize. I have neglected to stay in communication with you all and I am sorry. I’m hoping that this will change for the better over the next month. In fact I’m also hoping in the school holidays to take a look at the beach which I haven’t seen all Summer.

Either way, I hope to be a better blogger soon. It’s ironic isn’t it. I create a site about blogging and I no longer have time to blog. So what? Things have to change. I need a new theme for this blog, I need to get those plugins working, I need to add some colour to this site and let the sun in on a few dark corners.

Too many hats spoiled the view. On that note I also read this relevant post that struck a chord in my heartstrings

A Strategy For Building Blog Networks

This is a rather awesome post about niche blogging with some very wise advise about not biting off more than you can chew. This has been my problem since I started doing this. The sweetshop of options is filled with tempting projects and choosing just one niche, or just one project is a real trial.

His advice about employing writers is good if you can afford to do it but until there is revenue this won’t be a real option for most people. Hiring from elance for several articles may however be something worth considering. Also possible, now I think about it is the awesome software Dragon Speaking which allows you to dictate your post and simply edit the output when it converts it to text. Great for non typists and rsi complainants.

Multi blogging when you have some experience does become easier but add several different forms of marketing to the mix and multi blogging proves impossible to keep up with. Currently I’m mired in work and unable to get off the treadmill. But I do know that blogging is my passion and I will always want to do it.

I just need to scale back on too many other projects. Time to take off a few hats I think.

Wait, wait – I found it – Here’s the So What story, it’s cool.
