Blog Writing - Use Clipmarks To Snip Content For Quotes
I recently had to reinstall firefox on a new computer and came across an add on called Clipmarks. At first glance it did appear to be a bloggers dream tool, so I added it, but on investigation it wasn’t quite what I hoped for. I tried it out expecting the clips to appear in the blog post, but the clips actually go to the widget when it is installed.
So maybe its not a dream tool! It is still a valuable tool that will enable you to add some quick content to a blog from another site and share some love and some info. I don’t need to tell you not to go plagiarising content but simply quote a few paragraphs and attribute the content to the page where it was clipped from.
If you set up the widget, which I have not done as yet, you can send your clipmark clipping straight to your blog. You also have the option to email it to someone, or to yourself. This how I did this post, in this first example. I clipped a few paragraphs from the FAQ page of the site so you can see what media you can clip and from which sites.I emailed it to myself and added it at the end of the post as a quote.
Clipmarks is a scrapbookers delight. You can snip a bit of info here and there and leave a trail of quotes which people can follow. If you do this carefully, you can lead people through a process with it and be their guide. I hope clipmarks will expand on this project and enable you to create specific trails in folders for example or on different pages, so you can use it for tutorials, without making readers sift through a range of unrelated clips.
It appears to me that with its ability to clip video, it can also help you to write a faster review and perhaps include a video from an affiliate site, or something like that. I need to experiment with it a bit more.
Meanwhile however you can snip awesome videos, amazing pictures and text and use the functionality to post it to the widget on your blog, or as a feed to twitter or tag clips at delicious.
For text, the selection area is around a title or paragraph, but you can select text within the paragraph to filter out what you don’t want. You have a set number of words for each clipping, and you can keep adding until that number is reached. If you then email the clipping to yourself, you can edit the snips to create a post with quotes both easily and very quickly.
clipped from clipmarks.com
Clipmarks lets you clip specific pieces of web pages, then share what you clip with your friends on Facebook, MySpace or anywhere else. Unlike bookmarks that let you share a link to an entire page, our free clip button lets you capture and share the highlights from the page. Clips can also be saved privately, emailed or printed.——————————————————————————–
You can add a widget of your clips to your MySpace page, blog, or any other site. There is a “Get a Widget” link at the top right of all clip lists on clipmarks.com.
——————————————————————————–
Clipmarks currently supports Blogger, WordPress, TypePad, LiveJournal, Movable Type and Vox. We also provide an embed code so you can embed any clip onto MySpace or any other site. For more information about clipping direclty to your blog, visit the Clip-to-Blog FAQ.
——————————————————————————–
You can currently clip video that is hosted on the following sites: atomfilms.com, bolt.com, break.com, dailymotion.com, ifilm.com, metacafe.com, myspace.com, podtech.net, stupidvideos.com, uncutvideo.aol.com, video.google.com, video.yahoo.com, vimeo.com and youtube.com.

New Review Theme For Wordpress
New Review Theme For Wordpress Capitalises on the Interest in Review Sites
With the release of Google Nemesis new interest has been generated in the classic promotional technique of using reviews to make sales. So this new review theme for wordpress is a timely release.
Reviews are of huge help to consumers in their choice of products to buy, so long as they are fair and informative and represent your own point of view. Unfortunately so many reviews are like a wolf in sheep’s clothing, ie they are a sales page disguised as a review. There is no question that many affiliates use this type of page purely as a technique to make sales, and it works extremely well for them.
There are now many sites offering pre written reviews that people can use. This can save a great deal of time and also, as someone has actually gone to the trouble and expense of buying the product to review it, you can expect to get some detailed insight into it, that the sales page does not provide.
If you are building a reputation and trust is part of your strategy, then make the time to write your own reviews or at least add to or modify your pre written review pages. If you are simply hitting a review page with PPC traffic this is less important. It might not be wise to mix the two techniques.
If you are successful in building authority as Jack Humphreys calls it, a short and simple blog post can be every bit as effective, and more, than the 5 page long sales page with testimonials, bells and whistles. Don’t risk losing the trust you’ve worked to build by letting people catch a glimpse of a wolf under granny’s head scarf! But - you don’t have to do all the work, especially if you put this Wordpress theme for reviews to use.
A lot of the perceived value of review sites to consumers, comes in from the ratings of other people - that is comments that the owner of the page does not have absolute control of. There are ratings plugins you can add to wordpress, but if you are thinking of putting up a review blog, there is a new review theme that you can use that will allow your commentators to rate things up and down, and generally to comment on the product and the review. It’s a fairly basic and simple theme that is easily modified with your own header.
Take a look at it here. http://reviewspress.com/

The Only Desktop Web Site Editor

XSitePro V2 was officially released a few weeks ago now and now I have used it, and checked out the new features I can honestly say that I highly, indeed very highly, recommend you check it out as soon as you can -it’s truly awesome. I consider it to be the only desktop web site editor for anyone serious about creating multi functional web sites. In fact it’s the only web site editor - period, although I still sometimes use front page for find and replace editing in mini sites as they are a little difficult to import in to edit.
But for start from scratch, start to finish, professional web site design -
XSitePro2 is the bees knees!
If you’re not familiar with XSitePro, this wysiwyg desktop web site editor was originally specially designed with Internet marketers and online businesses in mind. XSitePro V1 had a list of features that was pretty startling then but Version 2 takes the cake. Rather than looking up html code all day to create the page features that you want to use, you mostly can just right click and insert it using any number of smart functions that do all the hard work for you automatically.
Which is why this wysiwyg desktop web site editor…
XSitePro2 is perfect for both beginners or experienced web site makers. For the beginner this editor is far easier to master than Dreamweaver or Front Page with its user friendly interface, easily accessible help and a great tutorial to get you started. The manuals that come with it are comprehensive, professional and easy to follow. For experienced web masters and marketers XSitePro 2 has a list of web design features that will help you create great web sites faster than ever and do some things that were simply not possible with any other editor until now.
XSitePro 2 has the ability to easily create cool navigation, it can silo, you can see your CSS (a true wysiwyg css editor), you say yes or no on forms to create pages like robots.doc or insert forms, you can store affiliate urls in it for easy insertion to pages, you can insert audio, video, RSS, sitemaps, multiple pages …
But why should I list every one of the “XSiting” variety of features XSitePro2 can gift you with. Wander over to their web site now and look for yourself - it’s a long and astounding list. But before you start thinking it’s going to be way too complex, think wide screen tv. Simple, elegant and easy on the eye but so much better than a box.
But I did write a more extensive review that explains more about why I like it here if you really want to read it. XSitePro 2 Review.
